Thistle Edinburgh, The King James Review
The 3-star King James Thistle Hotel Edinburgh is set within 10 minutes' stroll of Museum on the Mound and a 10-minute drive from the royal Holyrood Park.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant. Guests can try American dishes at Starbucks located a short walk to The King James Thistle Hotel.
The elegant hotel is placed about 100 km from Dundee airport and just near the 1st-floor Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop & Gallery. The property is situated in New Town, initially built response to the deterioration of the medieval Old Town in the 18th century, 700 metres from The Real Mary King's Close.
The hotel is placed a short way to the official residence "Palace of Holyroodhouse", while Edinburgh bus station is about 5 minutes' walk away.
Impressions
The Thistle Edinburgh, The King James is a haven for gastronomic enthusiasts, offering a delightful array of dining experiences. As a foodie, I was thrilled to find that the hotel's restaurant buffet serves up a mouthwatering selection of local and international dishes. From hearty Scottish breakfasts to globally inspired dinner options, it's a culinary journey that catered to my every craving. The café also proved to be a charming spot for indulging in artisanal coffees and delectable pastries, perfect for a leisurely morning or a quick pick-me-up during a busy day of exploration.
The bar/lounge area, with its inviting ambiance and well-stocked bar, became a favorite haunt of mine in the evenings. It's the ideal setting to unwind with a carefully crafted cocktail or a dram of fine Scotch whisky, all while soaking in the hotel's elegant surroundings. Moreover, the hotel's commitment to non-smoking rooms ensured a fresh and pleasant atmosphere, contributing to a truly enjoyable stay. With the added convenience of 24-hour reception, on-site laundry facilities, and a business center, every aspect of my visit was seamlessly taken care of, allowing me to focus on savoring the culinary delights of both the hotel and the vibrant city of Edinburgh.
